Gifts For Auntie presents For Auntie

Aunties are often hard done by. They are sometimes palmed off with soaps or other impersonal presents. Its time to address this with a gift that she will treasure and remember.

I’ll be Mother

Afternoon tea is one of those very British institutions that feel like a real special treat. Who wouldn’t want to while away a few hours in a top hotel drinking imported teas and eating delicate, calorific cakes?

Aunties of all ages will enjoy being indulged in this way. Budget for about £60 and buy an afternoon tea voucher from the five star hotel’s websites. The Ritz, Claridges, The Dorchester and The Savoy are just some of the famous names that host this afternoon tradition. Then let Auntie use the voucher whenever she wants to indulge herself and a friend to a leisurely afternoon of luxury - an experience she will undoubtedly treasure for years to come.

Picture Perfect

If your family is particularly close, give your auntie a book full of memories. A personalised photo album is a present that will endure and remain special forever and will capture all those happy times shared.

All you need to make this happen is lots of photos and lots of time. Buy a top quality album and paste a series of photos into it. Collect images of family members and events from your other relatives. Add illustrations or funny quips along side the photographs and bring those memories alive for her.

If you simply don’t have time to mock up a treat like this, give her a special day out in front of the camera. There are lots of photographic studios that offer pampering days as gifts and they are the perfect indulgent treat. A professional makeover, a few rolls of films shot by an expert photographer and some flattering prints are all included in the total price. This is the ideal gift to perk up your aunt and she will be able to take home mementos of the day.

Beauty Bonding

If you don’t get to spend a lot of time with your aunt, the perfect gift might be to suggest some bonding time together. Spa days at a top name beauty emporium or even just an afternoon at a local salon will be the ideal solution.

Book a treatment that you can have together – pedicures, massages, facials or even a standard manicure are great options. Throw in a glass of champagne, which most salons now offer to their customers, and you have all the ingredients for a wonderful day out that will leave you both feeling merry and refreshed!

Brownie Points

If you really put some thought into your gift, you will be able to score some serious brownie points from auntie. This is about putting in that extra effort and tracking down a unique, one-of-a-kind gift that will make her gasp with amazement.

Presents to give are not necessarily the most expensive – they are the ones that show you have been paying attention all these years. For example, has she ever mentioned her favourite author or childhood book? If she has, scour the Internet and your local bookshops for a first edition version that will immediately assume pride of place in her collection.

Has she talked constantly about her favourite artist hosting a new exhibition? Get talking to the gallery to reserve tickets and if necessary, purchase the train tickets to make sure that she doesn’t miss out. The same principle applies to her favourite singer, comedian or stage show. Pay attention and reward her with a real treat!

All Aunties need some special treats. Get them a gift to remember and they will love you forever!
